Not much happens rugby-wise at this time of year - and in fact through until about March/April so I thought I would change the focus from rugby a little bit. At O.B.H.S. we salute and honour those who who have achieved well in rugby with plaques that list our All Blacks through to a large display panel in the cafeteria that lists all our Otago representatives. But what about our other international representatives, like Olympians. Here is a list that I have been able to compile and there may well be others who I am unaware of or I have overlooked. Hopefully I haven't claimed anyone who was not an Old Boy!!

Neill (Ox) Baker is already looking towards next season and has started pencilling in coaches against each of our (expected 11) teams. However, with a number of staff moving on or looking at alternative pursuits the number of staff available has dwindled so he is inviting anyone interested in coaching or assisting with a team to contact him. If you are interested, you can contact him by leaving a message at the office 477 5527 or via this site - bepper1@yahoo.com and the message will be passed onto him.
Bevan Townsend, 1st XV coach for the past 5 years has stepped down and has been appointed as an assistant coach to the Zingari-Richmond premier team. We wish him well with this role and hope he will continue to contribute to School rugby albeit at a lower level.
The U13 Blues completed a great season for the Otago Boys' Rugby Club by winning the U13 Metropolitan Competition. The game against the Green Island Grizzlies was played on Carisbrook.
With the 1st XV finishing as top Dunedin Secondary School (and finishing in the top 4 for the Zero Fees Competition), the 2nd XV being runners up in their competition and several of the junior teams also completing successful seasons, rugby is in very good heart at Otago Boys High School - a tribute to coaches, supporters and players and especially to Mr (Ox) Baker for his work in co-ordinating all the various parts that go towards these successes.
